Bannack Macro Abstract

Here are my two macro's and my edit. I wanted to get the effect of an old picture/antique art piece. The first is the wood texture from one of the many buildings in Bannack. The second is someones old home and the landscape behind it. I then followed the instructions in lesson 34 of the book making the picture look antique, and giving it the wood art look.

Bannack Reverse Shallow Depth

Here are my depth shots. They were supposed to be the same shot, but one with a shallow focus and one with a far focus. I didn't realize how much I had moved the camera between these two shots, but out of similar shots with the two focus points, these were my best. You can see the boca in the first and clarity in the second. I used a macro for the first and a high fstop for the second.

How's that for an action shot? My first shot was taken in doors and I had the shutter as fast as the camera would "happily" let me go. There is a little bit of blur on the snow flakes, but for the most part it did a good job at freezing them in place and capturing the moment. The second shot was the ghost shot. This was a student that died in Bannack from the cold. He's still cold....and still there.
