This particular blog week I waited in hopes that a fog would come in and freeze, producing some better than normal shots of trees in the winter. I'm sure you can get good shots of trees and other plants in the winter with no frost, but I have a hard time being imaginative enough to find a good picture without. I tried a few different approaches this week, and out of the pictures I took, these were four of my favorite. The last picture, one of my favorite, was kind of a lucky shot. Unfortunately the flash was on which I didn't intend to do. It washed out the image a little bit, so I adjusted the levels on photoshop. Other than levels, there was no editing on the photos.
I love the picture of "Princess Borris!" I really like that the focus is on the cat's face, but the paw is closer to the camera. One thing you could maybe do is add an adjustment layer to add blur to the background (and then mask out the cat so it's still clear). I think this would put more of your focus on the cat and the viewer wouldn't get distracted by the busy background.
ReplyDeleteI love the lighting in your Princess Borris shot! It looks like you are getting some good use out of that camera. Nice work on the TV screen and the Friday Night text effect (previous post). I am so happy you are using the book and enjoying the editing tutorials. Keep up the great work, Derek!
